The Indian subsidiary of the South Korean car manufacturer, Hyundai, is soon going to launch Hyundai Eon in India. Eon will be joining the league famous hatchback models like Maruti Suzuki Alto, Chevrolet Spark and Tata Nano. Hyundai Eon launch date is expected to be in the first week of October this year. The company has competitively priced this new hatchback model to take over the small car segment in India.

Hyundai Eon bookings will start, most likely, from the second week of October and the booking amount will be around Rs. 10,000. Experts suggest that due to the increasing popularity of Eon, the bookings are expected to surpass that of Maruti Suzuki Swift. Hyundai is aiming to take advantage of the upcoming Indian festive season in October, to boost Hyundai Eon sales, by attracting a large part of the urban audience.

Hyundai will speed up the process by commencing car deliveries by November this year. The company plans to phase out their popular model Hyundai Santro and replace it with Hyundai Eon. The car is expected to lead the hatchback segment with a distinct exterior structure based on Hyundai Fluidic Verna design.

Some exterior features of the new Hyundai Eon include stylish wheel covers, body coloured bumpers and door handles, crystal clear front fog lamps, front grille with chrome finishing and tall clear tail lamps. Owing to all the luring features, Eon is likely to earn the title of the best looking hatchback in India.

The company will be launching Hyundai Eon in 6 petrol variants namely Eon D-Lite, Eon D-Lite (O), Eon Era, Eon Magma, Eon Magma (O) and Eon Sportz. The engine of Hyundai Eon will be powered with 3-cylinder and 814 cc engine displacement. Eon engine is expected to generate a maximum power of 55 bhp at 5500 rpm and a peak torque of 76.5 Nm at 4000 rpm. Moreover, the hatchback also claims to have an ARAI certified fuel economy ranging from 15 kmpl to 21 kmpl.

Along with a Hyundai Fluidic Verna based exterior design, the interior sports a number of simple features. Hyundai Eon in India will come with a spacious cabin having abundant legroom, to support a convenient driving experience. Its features include power steering, front power windows, remote central locking, manually operated air-conditioning system and much more. The high end Hyundai Eon variants will have an option for factory installed music system with AUX-in, USB port and 4 speakers.

Other noticeable features are large speedometer, tachometer and fuel gauge in the instrument cluster and a spacious glove compartment to accommodate articles such as mobile phones, newspaper, spectacles and much more.

The new Hyundai Eon will be a strong opponent for other hatchbacks in the Indian car market. With an aggressive yet trendy design complimented well by in-cabin features, the model is believed to be one of the best in its class. Moreover, a reasonable Hyundai Eon price is expected to garner high volume sales.

How To S2000 turbocharger kits

The S2000 is named for its engine displacement of 2L, carrying on in the tradition of the S500 and S800 roadsters of the 1960s. Honda altered the car's setup multiple times throughout its production to include changes to the chassis, powerplant and crivetrain. Officially two variants exist: the initial launch model was given the chassis code AP1, while the AP2 designation was given to vehicles produced from mid-2003 onwards. Though cosmetically similar, the AP2 incorporated significant changes to the drivetrain and suspension. Honda stopped making the car late in the last decade.

The F22 unit was a welcome addition to the final run of Honda's topless chariot. Altering the crank to make the pistons travel further increased the displacement and explosive combustion force, algong with various other modified engine components. A talented performer as Honda intended, the F22 will respond very well indeed to the introduction of forced induction, much more bhp is available from this than the standard car. As the F22's stock engine internals are forged, it can make an incredible amount of horsepower on a turbocharged stock engine block. Some tuners have made upwards of 500 horsepower on a turbo setup with the F22's stock internals.

Parts Required:
A turbo unit
Custome intake manifold
Exhaust manifold
An uprated cooling system (intercooler is best)
Recirc or stright to air Valve
Oil/coolant lines
Engine management software

When buying the turbo for this conversion, there's a lot to consider. There are many models out there from Mitsi 18G's to some of the smaller turbo diesel units to help eliminate the low-mid range gap in the S2000 powerband. Those with the money should certainly not scrimp in this area - always try to get the best, highest-throughput turo that you can afford. Be sure to check the size of the turbo inlet and get the right air tubes to connect up to the S2000 standard inlet manifold.

A tubular manifold from and aftermarket company will really help with the numbers so consider it over a home-made welding job. These can be custom fabricated by an exhaust shop to bolt to the F22 and accept your specific turbocharger. This conversion is becoming so common now that it's just as easy to guarantee a good fit with an off-the-shelf item.

Now's the time to also think about new cooling - intercooled or watercooled. A turbo really heats up the air as it's forced throught the turbines so you need this system to safeguard agaiinst pinging and detonation. Mounting a large I/C in the front airdam is the most cost effectinve approach as there's little room in the engine bay for a water cooled system. Adjustments will need to be made to get the intercooler seated in the optimal position.

You'll also need a dump or blow-by valve. These mount to the upper intercooler piping, intended to release excess charged air from the intake track when the throttle is lifted. Dump valves are largely a "one size fits all" solution and will fit most applications.

Purchase engine oil and coolant lines. These can be custom made from generic rubber or steel braided lines, available from most automotive parts stores.

Mapping the new unit is critical to prevent early failaure of just about everything - unless you really know what you're doing, take it to a professional.

How To Price A Classic Car

A lot of people dream of owning a classic car. When you say classic, it means older-looking, classy and distinctive. There are many applications that can be used in defining a classic car but basically, a classic car is defined as famous for its excellent worksmanship, great engineering and elegant style built around the years 1925 to 1948.

This definition is actually almost the same as the description given by the Classic Car Club of America. Classic cars are special cars that were famous for their high-class worksmanship, fine design and sophisticated engineering standards. Generally, these classic cars were high-priced especially in their new conditions and they had limited production runs. Of course beauty is in the eye of the beholder and many collectors have their own ideas about what a classic actually is.

There are certain factors to consider in determining a classic and these factors include the following: Engine displacement, custom coachwork and luxury accessories - one-shot lubrication systems, power brakes, power clutch, etc.

There's an endless list of classics - from the brass era to those tough muscle cars of the 60s. You can easily find an array of pictures of the Dodge Charger, Mopar muscle cars, Plymouth Barracudas, a Chrysler Airflow and DeSotos. Other distinctive classics also include the Ford Model A, the Model T, the Classic Lincoln Continental or the Boss Mustang.

If you own one of these classics, you are definitely in luck because many of them hold such a premium value.. However, selling a classic automobile is a bit more complicated compared to selling an ordinary car model. This is due to the fact that you are selling to a part of the population that is not only interested in buying a car for mere transportation, but its collectible value.

Today many people now see classics autos as an extremely sound investment since the value of these cars has nearly tripled in the last twenty years. As an example, the Chevelle, a popular muscle car from the 60s and 70s, was selling for $15-20,000 in the early 1990s. Today it is not uncommon to see it sell for well over $60,000 at many car auctions. This is why I always say that purchasing a classic car is akin to buying extremely valuable stock, without the worries. As long as you take care of the vehicle, time has showed us that the car will only increase in price.

How Is The Cost Of Motorcycle Insurance Calculated

Though it isn't officially required in several states, many motorists prefer to get a motorcycle insurance. It is a good and extremely significant coverage in case the inevitable happens. After all, simply being careful while driving your motorcycle and wearing safety gears isn't the only insurance you need.

Most of us are aware that motorcycles have higher rate of accidents per unit distance compared to cars. This is because of the exposed driver and the reality that most vehicle drivers are unable to see these smaller driving machines in the traffic line.

If you are transferring to a new state or you have just purchased a motorcycle, you should check first the insurance law of your state before whooshing down the road with your bike. This way, you can be sure that you are driving or riding legally. In case your state requires you to have liability coverage, then there are lots of motorcycle insurance options available for you.

To find the best deals on motorcycle insurance, it is always advisable to inquire first before setting your hands in a particular policy. There are key factors that affect your motorcycle insurance premium. Among them are:

1.)Engine displacement size (in cubic centimeter) of your motorcycle. Most of the times, you'll have higher motorcycle insurance premium if your bike employ a larger displacement engine. This type of motorcycles is generally more expensive and they boast superior performance.

2.)Make or brand of the Motorcycle. It isn't such a big factor, but it is usually considered in calculating the motorcycle insurance premium. A motorcycle brand with few models usually cost higher than a usual brand.

3.)The age of the driver or the owner. Older drivers normally benefit from cheaper motorcycle insurance rates than younger drivers using the same type of motorcycle.

4.)Type of bike. The type of bike you own and you are planning to insure also affect the rate of your motorcycle insurance. Sport bikes are normally expensive and thus require higher premium.

5.)Is your motorcycle garaged? If your bike will be parked in a garage if you're not using it, your premium won't be as high as those who are leaving their motorcycle parked out along the pavement. In the latter case, the motorcycle will be prone to accidents and theft and consequently, it will require higher insurance rate.

6.)Driving Record. Your driving record as well as your experience affects your motorcycle insurance payment. If your driving record has been messed up by too many tickets and accidents, then you should expect to pay for higher rates.

7.)Number of miles driven every week. It is an important consideration in calculating your motorcycle insurance payment, since the mileage you are likely to put on your motorcycle will push your premium up or pull it down. So you have to decide first if your bike will serve as your service in your daily commute or it is intended only for leisure. If you will use your motorcycle in your everyday activities, then expect to pay higher premium.

8.)Locality. This factor also matter in the computation of the cost of your motorcycle insurance. If you are residing in a big city, expect slightly higher rates compared to those who are living in a rural area but are insuring the same type of bike.

To get a full motorcycle insurance coverage, make sure that your insurance covers liability coverage, no-fault coverage, passenger coverage, collision coverage, uninsured coverage, collision coverage and service coverage.

History of the Honda CB-1 NC27

The Honda CB-1 NC27 was a naked street bike first manufactured in 1989 for Honda's domestic Japanese market. As a result, it has an unusual 399cc engine displacement, a size not generally seen outside Japan. However, this motorcycle was imported to both US and Canada, and many reached UK shores as a gray import. Another unique quality of this particular Honda street bike was that it was designed to be commuter friendly, with surprisingly good fuel efficiency. While it was praised by motorcycle critics and loved by riders, the CB-1 NC27 never became as popular as other Honda bikes, and production stopped in 1990.

The liquid-cooled 399cc engine in the Honda CB-1 definitely delivered up to expectations, giving out 55bhp at 10,000rpm. This was more than enough to propel the 400-pound CB-1 NC27 to speeds in excess of 110 mph. The bike came with 41 mm telescopic front forks and a Pro-Link mono-shock component in the rear. These worked great to provide a comfortable riding experience at high speeds, while the 70-17 tyres came with disk brakes for safer handling and stability.

Riders also loved the low seating position of the Honda CB-1 NC27, which was very similar to the larger Honda CBR600. The first and secondary gear ratios were also more in tune with larger bikes, giving CB-1 owners an advantage in taking off from standstill. Equipped with a typical Honda six-speed racing gearbox, the Honda CB-1 NC27 was a fun and exciting ride. One unique thing was that even with its sporty performance, this Honda bike gave efficiency figures as high as 50 mpg, depending on the riding conditions. With its 2.7 gallon fuel tank and good efficiency, the CB-1 makes a good touring bike.

One important point is that the Honda CB-1 was also sold in some countries under the name CB400F. However, this was a marketing decision in certain export markets to connect with the original CB400F (1974). If you look closely, the 1989-90 CB400F bikes are actually identical to the CB-1 NC27. Today, there are very few CB-1 bikes left in good condition, they are still in demand from collectors and enthusiasts. In the UK, genuine spare parts are hard to come by, except from a few expert dealers. The air filter is especially important, since the CB-1 NC27 engine tends to overheat if there are any leaks in the inlet tract. However, the Honda CB-1 NC27 still delivers a real dose of power for surprisingly low running costs, so if you get your hands on one, count yourself lucky!

History of Mercedes The 300 Adenauer

The Mercedes Benz 300 Adenauer (1951 - 1962)

In today's automotive world, the number 300 might not mean too much anymore, but a few decades back it had a very special appeal. Chrysler used it in the US for its famous and fast Chrysler 300 series, which was first introduced in 1955 as the C-300. It used a V8 hemi 331 cu in engine and was called 300, because it developed 300 hp.

In Germany, the name 300 was made famous by Daimler-Benz, who used it for their top luxury car introduced in 1951, the 300 Adenauer Benz. Here the name 300 was not used because of its horsepower but because of the 3.0 l (183 cu in) engine displacement. When it was launched in April 1951 at the Frankfurt Automobile Show the Benz caused such a sensation that mounted police had to be called in to manage the enthusiastic crowd.

But it was not only the general public who liked the car, it was the press who said after testing it that it should be considered as "international automotive extra class". That impression was supported by the lucky customers, who were able to afford the Mercedes Benz 300. Because at a price of 19,900.- DM ($4,720.-) it was certainly also from a financial point of view extra class. In the US the 300 was introduced in 1953 and cost around $6,500.-. The priciest sedan in the US was at that time the Cadillac Series 75 Fleetwood. At "only" $5,820.- it must be considered a bargain, given the fact that it had a 5.4 l (331 cu in) V8 engine with 210 brake horsepower and an overall length of 6.0 meters (236.5 in).

The Mercedes Benz, in comparison, delivered with its six-cylinder engine 115 DIN hp and offered an overall length of 4.95 meters (194.9 in). Nevertheless, its breathtaking price offered exclusivity and some of its famous owners such as Errol Flynn, Gary Cooper, Yul Brunner, Anthony Quinn, King Gustaf Adolph of Sweden, Frank Lloyd Wright and the Aga Khan sure didn't complain about it. Pope John XXIII even had a special Pullman Landaulet delivered to his summer residence in Castel Gandolfo in 1960. It was not the first time in the history of Mercedes that a pope had ordered a special built vehicle and it was also not the last time. The most famous owner must have been the first German chancellor Konrad Adenauer, who had during his tenure six of them. As a matter of fact the Ben was so closely associated with the chancellor that the whole series is still today called the 300 Adenauer.

The vehicle's body was still built on a very traditional cruciform oval-tubed chassis of pre-war design. In this respect it was similar to the 170 and 220 Benz. It also carried over the central lubrication system of the 170 model. It might look old fashioned, but in its favor it has to be said that this body-on-frame-construction was ideal for maintaining a very high level of quality for cars produced in small numbers. Like the smaller 220 Benz, which was launched at the same time, its overhead camshaft inline six-cylinder engine was very modern for early 1950's standards. It was fed by two downdraft carburetors instead of one as in the 220 and was also considerably larger. With a top speed of 160 km/h (100 mph) it was quicker than its smaller sibling, establishing itself as the fastest sedan produced by a German car manufacturer.

From 1951 to 1962, four versions of the Mercedes Benz 300 have been produced. While the first three models differed mostly in technical aspects, the last version 300d was not only bigger and more powerful, it was also a slight bow to American styling ideas, as it offered for the first time in the history of Mercedes Benz a sedan with a hardtop design. All four side windows could be lowered with their chromed frames and even the rear quarter lights could be taken out.

All four versions offered also a four-door cabriolet, which was insanely expensive and only produced in very small numbers. Over a time span of eleven years, just 11,430 units of the Mercedes Benz 300 Adenauer were produced, of which 707 were cabriolets. Cadillac produced a similar volume in a mere month. Although the 300 might not be regarded in the history of Mercedes Benz as a big sales success, it sure helped to re-establish the image of Daimler-Benz as a world class manufacturer of luxury automobiles.

Guide to Selecting Your First Motorcycle

For the first time rider, choosing your first motorcycle is often a daunting decision. Now, more than ever, the motorcycle industry in North America is making high-quality, smaller displacement motorcycles that make excellent first motorcycles. But what bike is right for you? That really depends on a number of factors. In many jurisdictions, your choice in motorcycles may be limited by a graduated motorcycle licensing scheme. Often these systems limit your engine displacement or power-to-weight ratio rating. Be sure to check these details before purchasing a motorcycle.

The purpose of the bike is your primary consideration. Are you looking solely for a bike just to learn the basics? A 250cc bike or smaller, such as the Honda CBR125, or the Kawasaki Ninja 250, are both modern, high quality bikes that provide reliable mounts while you learn the ropes. The aforementioned Ninja can even manage highway speeds.

If you would like your first motorcycle to carry you past your first riding season, you may want to consider a motorcycle with a slightly larger displacement. Something in the 250-500cc range, such as the Suzuki GS500 or the Kawasaki Ninja 500 will allow for more than one season of riding. Larger displacement also means a larger bike, which may fit a slightly larger rider more comfortably, and also increase the feasibility of long range highway rides.

Should you be looking for a motorcycle that you can learn the basics on and keep for the long term, you have a wide variety of options. There are a number of 600-650cc bikes in the North American market that have ample power, range and size to keep a rider satisfied for many seasons. The key is to stay away from true sport motorcycles, which come along with too much power for the beginner, as well as extremely high insurance rates.

If you are not afraid of a little do-it-yourself maintenance, a Japanese motorcycle from the 1980s can be a good bet. Despite some having larger displacement engines, they also tend to be heavier, thus reducing the power-to-weight ratio into the more manageable range. They are cheap, easy to find and offer long distance comfort and pleasant ergonomics (seating position, reach to the handlebars and leg position). Parts can be harder to find, and the potential of more maintenance is almost a certainty. My first motorcycle was an early 80s Honda 750, which fit my 6'0 frame much better than a small displacement motorcycle. It allowed me to learn the basics, without tempting me with too much power, too early on for my skill set.

As I alluded to before, a bike that fits you properly is a prime consideration. No matter how much you like a bike, if your feet do not touch the ground, you are in trouble. Conversely, if you are a taller rider, a smaller bike may be too cramped. Cramped ergonomics are particularly noticeable on long distance rides and can cause serious discomfort. A bad fit on a motorcycle is a safety hazard that should be avoided.

Next, your budget will dictate many of your choices. If you are unsure whether you will really like motorcycling, reducing your initial investment is a wise idea. Enter older used motorcycles, which are initially inexpensive to purchase, and have gone through all the depreciation previously. Often you can sell such a motorcycle for what you have paid for it initially. Many of the modern, small displacement road motorcycles hold their value well, so for a larger investment initially, you can recover a large percentage of that initial cost. This way, you can avoid some of the higher cost maintenance issues that tend to come along with older motorcycles.

After narrowing down your choice based on purpose, fit and budget, you can then choose what bike resonates with you most. This is a more subjective consideration; however you will often know what the right bike for you is when you "fall in love with it". Once you've chosen your ride, you are now set to start building your skills and experience on a motorcycle. By this time, I hope you have already completed a motorcycle safety training program and have the proper protective gear. A little dose of humility while learning to ride will pay large dividends later in your motorcycle riding life. Learning the basics at slow speeds, how to interact with traffic, avoid collisions and ride in a variety of conditions will make you a better, safer rider.

Guide To Choosing A Driving Instructor

When it comes to choosing a driving school, or more specifically a driving instructor, there are many factors to consider in making the right choice. Choosing a driving instructor that is compatible with you is the best way to ensure that you are adequately prepared for your driving test and ultimately more likely to be a better, safer driver, when it is time to go it alone.

A good driving instructor will be patient, understanding and approachable. Those factors, along with others should be central to choosing which one is right for you.

Referrals

When people are happy with a product or service they are usually happy to refer the business to their friends and family. The same applies with driving instructors if your friend or family member recommends a certain driving instructor then this could be a good means of finding one that is right for you. Although your friend or family member may like the driving instructor on a personal level, it is important that you find out if they are also satisfied with his or her teaching ability and how they have turned out as a driver through using their services.

Car They Drive

Although you may not be too concerned with the kind of car your instructor has, this could become a factor when you eventually get in a car on your own. If, for example, you have bought a large car in preparation for when you pass your test, then you may find it a shock to your system when you have to drive a car that is much larger in size. In that instance, an influencing factor in choosing an instructor could be to choose one that has a car around the same size and engine displacement as the one that you have bought.

It is also worthy of note that many driving instructors are happy to take you out in your own car, however it is better to check with them first as not all instructors and schools will be happy to do this.

Experience

Choosing a more experienced driving instructor will mean that you are more likely to be dealing with someone who knows a lot more than what they had to in order to pass a test. With experience comes knowledge and expertise in how to deal with students, as well as how to act on the road. Although you should not be completely put off working with a younger driving instructor altogether, it is probably best to consider someone with more years of experience to have an advantage where this is concerned.

Compatibility

One of the most overlooked parts of choosing any service provider is their compatibility with you. Although it may be hard to work this out on a phone, or in a quick meeting, you should try to get a grasp for whether or not you are likely to get on with them. Keep in mind that you do not have to become best friends with your driving instructor, however having a mutual understanding is vital.

Getting The Best Deal When Buying A Used Ford Car

Buying a used ford car has never been easier, especially thanks to the accredited dealerships which are now able to retail used ford cars with as much certainty for the buyer as when they're getting a brand new one. This shift towards seller accountability, especially when it comes to Ford cars, has made second hand options far more attractive than they were in the past. Ford as a company are largely responsible for this, and have had their model replicated by many other manufacturers who understand that their approach helps to solidify their position as a quality manufacturer who protects their customer's safety even when they're not buying from them directly.

The Process

Because Ford has a great reputation and is able to rely on repeat custom they are able to account for this in their business model. That's why accredited dealerships are able to sell customers new cars, and trade in their old cars at a reasonable price. Then, they can sell other peoples second hand cars onto new customers. However, it's not as simple as that. Firstly they will check that the car meets all the standards that are set forth by Ford and by themselves. If the car is not working like clock-work they will either refuse to buy this car from a seller, or they will buy it and perform and the necessary repair work until its completely road worthy. This approach allows used Ford buyers to know that they are buying quality, even if they are not buying it brand new from the showroom floor.

Finance Options

Certain Ford dealers have the ability to offer finance options to their customers. This means that if a potential buyer does not have the cash to be able to finance the purchase of a second hand car that they will be able to get a loan which could mean that they will be able to get on the road before they have the money in the bank. This doesn't always work out, however it can do more often than not. That's why choosing to go with an accredited Ford dealership can be a great option. If your wages are more than enough to cover the cost of running your car, and making payments, why shouldn't you be able to get on the road as soon as possible.

Infinite Choices

When it comes to buying a used ford car your choices aren't limited in the same way as they might be with other manufactures. Ford manufacturers high performance sports cars, family hatch backs and MPVs. Whatever it is your looking for in terms of appearance, performance, engine displacement, or seating capacity you can be sure that Ford will be able to give you what your looking for. That's why a Ford used car dealership is often the best place to go when you are looking for a used car. You'll also be able to test drive a wide variety of motors, meaning you don't have to rest until your fully satisfied.

Ferrari Enzo Overview

The Ferrari Enzo is the fifth Ferrari Supercar to be produced. The Ferrari brand is often misunderstood as producing only supercars, which is not entirely true. Ferrari produces a number of Grand Touring (GT) and Luxury sports cars. Cars that most would call exotics and some would call supercars although the two classifications shouldn't be used interchangeably. In Ferrari's case, the five supercars that they've made since the 1960s are: the 250 LM, 288 GTO, F40, F50 and the Enzo. All most commonly known supercars, the F40 and F50 dominated the supercar scene in the late 80s and throughout the 90s, while the Enzo is known for being Ferrari's supercar of the 2000s.

Unlike the F40 though, the Enzo was only produced for two years, from 2002 to 2004, yielding only 400 units. The F40 was produced for five years, yielding 1,315 units, is still one of the rarest and most sought after Ferrari's today. The F50 wasn't produced for as long as the F40 and like the Enzo, under 400 units were made. The F50 was produced from 1995 to 1997 and exactly 349 units were produced.

There was no supercar development by Ferrari for nearly five years, until 2002, when Ferrari announced the Enzo at the Paris Motor Show. The new supercar was named the Enzo after the founder of Ferrari and in celebration of Ferrari's first Formula 1 title of the new millennium. The car was designed by Ken Okuyama, former Pininfarina head designer and looks just as timeless as the F40 and F50. The design is aggressively presented and extremely menacing with sharper than usual edges and panels unlike the smoother styles of the 360 and 575 Maranello.

Like the F40 and F50, a very limited number of Enzos would be produced. The original production amount was set at 349 units and was offered first to current Ferrari owners at a mild price tag of $659,330. All 349 were sold before production on the Enzo even began and after additional requests, Ferrari decided to build an additional 50 Enzos, bringing the total production count to 399. There are also a few cars that were created as a variant or based off of the Enzo: The Ferrari FXX, P4/5, and Maserati MC12.

The Ferrari Enzo has a 6.0 liter V12 engine that sits in the mid-rear of the Enzo's Formula 1-based carbon-fiber body. The engine was redesigned by Ferrari for the Enzo and is based off of a similar engine design found in the Maserati Quattroporte's V8. This new engine architecture replaces the Dine designed engines of the past with new Ferrari V8 and V12 designs. It sits at an unconventional 60 degrees unlike the normally designed 90 degree engines. The F430 in 2005 would be the second Ferrari to receive the new engine design. The naturally aspirated V12 displaces 5998 cc and produces 651 horsepower at 7800 rpm and 485 lb-ft of torque at 5500 rpm, with a redline of 8000 rpm. The outgoing F50 model featured a 4.7 liter Dino designed V12 that displaced 4698 cc and produced 513 horsepower at 8000 rpm and 347 lb-ft of torque at 6500 rpm. That gives the Enzo a 27% horsepower and 40% torque improvement over the F50 with only a 27% increase in engine displacement. As a result of the high performance figures, the Enzo can do 0 to 60 mph in 3.1 seconds, the quarter mile in 11.0 seconds at 136 mph and reach a top speed of 220 mph.

Since the design was influenced by Formula 1, the downforce on the Enzo is incredible. The Enzo also features active aerodynamics that cause the rear wing to adjust automatically depending on the car's speed and downforce requirements. The Enzo features one of the early F1 gearboxes that allows the driver to shift via a semi-automatic transmission without a clutch. A similar gearbox was first introduced in the Ferrari 360 and later improved in the F430. The Enzo transmission is known to shift as quickly as 150 milliseconds, 4 times faster than the eye can blink but due to its new design has been known to shift abruptly. Stopping the Enzo is no problem; it features 15 inch Brembo Carbon Fiber Silicon Carbide disc brakes wrapped around 19-inch wheels.

The Ferrari Enzo is truly an icon of Ferrari's ability to transform Formula 1 performance into a street car. With a beautifully tuned 6.0 V12 Engine that can get to 60 mph in sub-zero times and light-weight carbon fiber chassis technology, there's no doubt that this will continue to be one of the best Ferrari supercars built. That is, until Ferrari announces the Enzo's replacement in 2012. Until then, you can look to find a used Enzo for at least $1 million USD. Good luck.

Ferrari Cars Overview

The Ferrari was founded in 1929 by Enzo Ferrari and first produced cars in 1947. Today, the parent company for Ferrari is Fiat. The Ferraris engines are famous for their engine displacement technology. The V6 and the V8 are built in total displacement, while the V12 used a displacement of one cylinder. Some of the latest Ferrari models include the Ferrari 550, the 575 M Maranello, 599 GTB Fiorano, the 612 Scaglietti,, the F355, the Ferrari 360, the F430, the Enzo Ferrari and the Ferrari FXX.

The 599 GTB Fiorano was started to be produced in 2007, and it is a Gran Turismo two seat berlinetta with a FR layout. The Ferrari 612 Scaglietti is a follower of the Ferrari 456 and it is a 2+2 coupe Gran Turismo. It was first launched in 2004 and is still being manufactured. Another car also launched in 2004 is the Ferrari F430. It is a sports car and it is available as a two seat Berlinetta and as a two seat Spider. The F430 has a MR layout and can be purchased with a 6 manual or semi automatic speed.

The Enzo Ferrari is a super car/ ultra car manufactured between 2002 and 2004 and was launched in the memory of the founder of the Ferrari company. The Enzo was manufactured in only 400 copies so it was a highly expensive item. It had a Berlinetta body style and a MR layout. The follower model of the Enzo Ferrari was the FXX, which is also a super car. The FXX was released in 2005, and is said to be an improved Enzo Ferrari with the same MR layout and Berlinetta body style. The FXX keeps many of the Enzos features but has also new cool features that are singular to the FXX. The car is highly expensive and it may be driven on special tracks only. The last FXX, the 30th was given to Michael Schumacher. A similar super car is the Maserati MC12 Corsa.

Ferrari si also responsilble for some concept models, which include among others the Ferrari P5, the Ferrari Pininfarina 512S Berlinetta Speciale, the Pininfarina Modulo, the Ferrari Mythos, the Ferrari GG50, the Ferrari P4/5 and the Ferrari Zagato 575 GTZ.

Ferrari 599 GTO

The 599 GTO benefits directly from the carry-over of the Ferrari racing experience representing the most advanced technology applied to a road car thanks to its numerous cutting edge features. With a Fiorano lap time of 1'24" the 599 GTO is the fastest road-going Ferrari ever. A mid front engine V12 berlinetta, the 599 GTO belongs to the exclusive series of 599 cars. The model is built on the platform of the production vehicles, but developed with a completely different and revolutionary concept, more closed to the 599 XX - the sport prototype designed for track only.

The 599 GTO represents the new pinnacle of sports car performance and was designed specifically for the most enthusiastic drivers who know how to appreciate and exploit its power. It has an unprecedented weight-to-power ratio that has been achieved thanks to new materials and technologies that have contributed to slash 100 kg from its overall weight and the aerodynamic package doubling the down force of the 599 GTB Fiorano.

The 670 CV V12 engine derives from the 599 XX but it is homologated for road usage. The car boasts also the new generation carbon ceramic brakes (CCM2). The electronic control systems allow the car to be exceptionally responsive and particularly suited to owners capable of making the very most of its level of performance.

The car's name recalls both the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano and the 599 XX sharing with the last one the same 5999 cc engine displacement.

GTO stays for "Gran Turismo Omologata" and represents a landmark in Ferrari's history. The abbreviation was first adopted in 1962 for the 250 GTO, long considered the finest Ferrari ever built, and then revived for the 1984 GTO, often unofficially referred as the 288 GTO and credited to have invented the modern supercar concept.

The 599 GTO engine is derived from the 599 XX, with all the necessary modifications to make the vehicle compliant to the road homologation. The 599 GTO is powered by a 65-degree V12, it has a 6-litre displacement and, with an output of 670 CV at 8,250 rpm, it boasts a power output of 112 CV/liter and a weight-to-power ratio of just 2.23 kg/CV. The engine provides a constant crescendo of power and torque all the way up to the rev limiter at 8,400 rpm. Torque peaks at 620 Nm at 6500 rpm with impressive flexibility even at low to medium revs and incredible pulling power all the way to the redline.

Meticulously selected materials and geometries ensure that the engine sound inside the car is carefully controlled to balance the intake sound with the exhaust, thus giving the driver plenty of feedback. The sound filtering through the cockpit is now eight decibel louder; it is clear and powerful regardless of engine speed or driving conditions.

Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano Overview

Originally debuted at the 2006 Geneva Motor Show, the Ferrari 599 GTB Fionaro was presented as a unique blend of automotive brilliance and Grand Touring enjoyment. As the successor to the 575 Maranello, the 599 features a much more aggressive design as well as improved power output, making it one of the fastest Grand Tourers of its time. Produced from 2006 to present day, the 599 GTB is most commonly available as a Grand Tourer 2-seat Berlinetta but can also be seen as a 599 GTO, 599XX or the 599XX Evo.

Ferrari 599 GTB Fionaro is a long name for a car, but for Ferrari's current production Grand Tourer it bears a significant amount of symbolism. The numerical value of 599 resembles the engine displacement of 5,999 ccs for a large 6.0 Liter V12 engine, Ferrari's largest until the FF came along. The GTB is short for Grand Turismo Berlinetta, which in Italian indicates the sporty nature of this two seater coupe intended for long, high performance journeys. Ending with Fionaro, a particularly interesting touch for a name, resembles the name of the private Ferrari test track in Maranello, Italy. The last piece is particularly interesting for this specific model line as the outgoing model, the 575 Maranello, is named after the city in which Ferrari is headquartered. Perhaps the successor to the 599 will be named after a Ferrari headquarters conference room.

The design itself is striking enough warrant a few drawn-out glances. With compelling curves that weave their way down over the long nose hiding the 6.0-liter V12, one would only dare to come closer. The sides of the coupe protrude with fender flairs that are pushed out by wide axles, while the rear is a menacing cross between an Enzo and the 575 Maranello. It is Beautiful, certainly, but that's what Grand Tourers are known for. Aston Martin doesn't hire designers from the Prius product line, nor does Bentley employ GM designers, so it would only make sense that the Ferrari design would be done by Pininfarina.

Beneath the eye-catching design hides the 612 horsepower 6.0-liter 12-cylinder engine with 448 ft-lb of torque that peaks horsepower and torque at 7,600 RPM and 5,600 RPM respectively, with a redline of 8,400 RPM. The most powerful series production Ferrari car of the time, only to be bested by the new 2012 Ferrari FF. That kind of power for a 6.0 liter engine means that this is one of the few engines to get 100 horsepower per liter of displacement without the help of a turbo or supercharger. The 599 GTB Fionaro weighs in at 1,688 kg (3,721 lbs), making it lighter than the Ferrari FF (1,885 kg) and the 575 Maranello (1,730 kg). Put the two together, light weight Grand Tourer and 100 horsepower per liter and you get an amazingly quick 0 to 60 mph time of 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 205 MPH. Aston Martin's V12 6.0-liter DBS does 0 to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds and hits a top speed of only 190 MPH. That sounds like an amazing advantage for Ferrari over Aston Martin.

The 599 comes paired with a 6-speed manual transmission or the F1 electrohydraulic manual transmission found in the F430 and Enzo, that allows the car to make shifts in as little as 60 milliseconds, faster than you can blink -- twice. The F1 transmission pushes the 0 to 60 time from 3.7 seconds to 3.3 seconds, a 0.4 second improvement with the removal of your left leg.

Although the graceful 599 has been around since 2006, Ferrari has already announced a working replacement, codenamed the "F152." It's anticipated to still house a V12 with a front-engine rear wheel drive layout, most likely sharing the 6.3 liter engine found in the FF. It will also most likely feature significant weight reduction with the introduction of an aluminum frame and carbon fibre body panels.

In the mean time, you can be sure to pick a Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano up with your parent's allowance money for a mere $310,543. Be sure to pack an extra $10,000 if you want the exceedingly faster F1 transmission. Or, you could just wait for the successor to come out, we hear it may have over 700 horsepower...

Factors For Determining What The Top Motorcycle Is

There are a number of factors that are used in determining what the top motorcycle is and it's sometimes a difficult task to take on because of the large number of motorcycle types, makes, and models available on the market today. A few of the different factors used in determining the top motorcycle will be described here.

First of all, before you begin to weed through the options available for the top motorcycle spot, you really have to separate the different bikes out into their distinct categories. Most motorcycles can be placed into one of two general categories, the sport bike, and the cruiser. There are other categories of motorcycle, but for the sake of picking the top bike, it's generally a good idea to have less categories than more so you don't have a bunch of motorcycles on the list, and no solid decision on which is the best.

Once you have sorted through the list of candidates for the top motorcycle spot in each category, then you can begin to list the different highlights of each motorcycle which include a number of different factors. Some of those factors include performance, design, popularity, and more.

A motorcycles performance will play a large role in determining where it falls in the list of top motorcycles for the year. Obviously, a motorcycle that out performs most of the competition will appear higher in the list as long as it also rates well in the different categories. Performance can be measured in a number of ways which include the way the motorcycle handles in different situations, road tests, etc. Performance can also be measured with statistical data such as the max speed, gas mileage, engine displacement, torque, horsepower, and much more. These are all factors of performance which can be used in determining which is the top motorcycle.

Another factor is design. A well designed motorcycle will that can also perform well will have a much better chance of reaching that top spot than a motorcycle with a poor design and good performance. The reason being is because the appeal of a motorcycle is also very important to riders, and those bikes that look well, rank high. Design does not just include the look of the motorcycle, it also includes the layout of the controls, the positioning of the seat and how the rider is situated on the bike. It includes the way the bike is built and whether or not the bike feels good when you're riding it. These are just a few factors that are considered when rating the design of a motorcycle.

Popularity plays a huge role in the decision of which motorcycle is the top motorcycle on the market. Brand preference and loyalty can also have a hand in the popularity because of the fact that those who are loyal to any one specific brand are going to stick to that brand in most situations. So the most popular motorcycle will likely get the votes for that top spot if it performs well, and is designed well at the same time.

Factors Affecting You Motorcycle Insurance Premium

Though it isnt officially required in several states, many motorists prefer to get a motorcycle insurance. It is a good and extremely significant coverage in case the inevitable happens. After all, simply being careful while driving your motorcycle and wearing safety gears isnt the only insurance you need.

Most of the times, youll have higher motorcycle insurance premium if your bike employ a larger displacement engine. This type of motorcycles is generally more expensive and they boast superior performance.

2.)Make or brand of the Motorcycle. It isnt such a big factor, but it is usually considered in calculating the motorcycle insurance premium.

If your bike will be parked in a garage if youre not using it, your premium wont be as high as those who are leaving their motorcycle parked out along the pavement.

Engine Displacement

This one is for all of you younger Hot Rodders out there who have been looking for a simple article explaining Displacement, Bore and Stroke but only found Wikipedia and a bunch of forum threads. Some of these forum threads may actually be helpful but you're not sure if you should trust these forums, so you want a real article and not a wiki. So I decided to write this and help people like you out.

First thing is first lets, go over what engine displacement is, if you are into hot rodding you already know the names of several engines such as the Chevy 350, Ford 302, Chrysler 440, etc. Well the numbers are the cubic inches of engine displacement. What displacement is, it is the measure of how much fuel and air you can fit in your cylinders.

Now how you figure out engine displacement is by a simple calculation (oh no, not math!) Now how you figure out displacement is (3.14)/4 X bore (squared) X stroke X number of cylinders.

An example the Chrysler 3.18 LA

3.14/4 X 3.91^2 X 3.31X 8= 317.79ci (aka 318ci)

Now some of you maybe be wondering why use PI? Well because Cylinders are round and we are figuring out a volume, PI is used in volume so it is used to figure out engine displacement which is volume. As for those wondering why the 318 LA in the example, well because the SBC 350 is to common.

Now for those of you who are too lazy to use paper, there are plenty of online displacement calculators for your convince. The best one I have found is here at the csgnetwork, not only does it calculate displacement it shows you all of the bore, and stroke for all of the stock hot rod engines. That way when you bore it out, or do a custom stroker job, you can calculate it right there.

Now getting on to bore (yes your calculator will come in handy for this), watching or attending drag races you may have heard people say they something like this "I've got a 350 SBC, 30 over..." which is the most common. What the 30 over means (its actually written out.030) is that he bored out his cylinders by thirty thousands of an inch increasing his displacement which if he didn't stroke the engine it would bring it too 355.

Now you have probably heard of stroker motors, such as the 383, the 331, the 496, etc. What is a Stroker motor you may ask? Well first lets go over stroke.

What Stroke is the measurement of how far down a piston is from the Top Dead Center of the Cylinder to the bottom dead center of the Cylinder. As mentioned early the 3.18 has 3.31ci of stroke, that is 3.31 cubic inches from the Top Dead Center of the Cylinder to the Bottom dead Center of the Cylinder.

A Stroker motor is when you increase the engines stroke so the piston distance can increase and more fuel and air can get in the cylinder. To do this you will need to bigger crankshaft and longer connecting rods for your pistons.

Now I hope that helps you guys out. If you are planning one doing a bore or a stroke job please research it before you do it! Most engines have kits available for both so look into that as well. If there is any engine that you want me to do a tech article on I will do that.

Electric Scooter Parts - Replacing a CDI Module

One of the most common of electric scooter parts in need of replacement, the CDI module is as essential to the scooter ignition system as the spark plug. Thought to be an invention of the brilliant Nikola Tesla, the Capacitor Discharge Ignition (CDI) is the standard system used on most of today's gas-powered motor scooters, as well as on many motorcycles, marine outboards and other small engines. A complete CDI module is made up of a transformer, the charging circuit, the rectifier, a capacitor, and the trigger circuit.

How the CDI Module Works
The transformer first raises the voltage to 400 to 600 volts. Moving along the charging circuit, the electric current charges the capacitor, with the rectifier preventing the capacitor from discharging before the ignition point. Receiving the triggering signal, the trigger circuit stops charging and allows the capacitor to discharge to the low inductance ignition coil. This increases the original 400-600 Volt capacitor discharge to as much as 40 kV at the secondary winding, jumping the spark plug gap, and igniting the gas/air mixture in the cylinder. The charging circuit is then reconnected and resumes charging the capacitor all over again.

AC or DC?
Most current scooters us an alternating current (AC) system; however the popular KYMCO scooter brand uses direct current (DC). As a result, electric scooter parts for KYMCO machines, including the CDI module, can sometimes be difficult to find.

Engine Size
It is always best to match the engine size to the CDI specifications. A CDI module made for a 50cc engine might work on a 100cc, 125cc, or 150cc engine, and some are designed to function over a range of engine sizes. Others however, will only work for a particular engine displacement. Always check the specifications to be sure of getting the correct scooter ignition parts.

2-stroke and 4-stroke Scooter Ignition
The 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines are completely different, and as a result, their engines' ignition timing is totally different as well. You cannot use a CDI made for a 2-stroker on a 4-stroke scooter. Conversely, you cannot use a 4-stroke scooter's CDI on a 2-stroke scooter.

Connectors
On many current CDIs, the connectors are integral to the unit's case, forming a plug that snaps directly on to the scooter's wiring harness. On other models, the connectors may be located on wires, allowing some leeway on exactly where the module is mounted. The skillful mechanic may shorten or lengthen these wires as necessary. The most common CDI connector style uses two plugs side by side; one 4-pin plug, and a 2-pin plug. These connectors may be square, rectangular, or simple spades.

Note: Photo illustrations of many CDI connectors can be seen at the website listed at the bottom of this article.

Unrestricted or Restricted?
An unrestricted (or racing) CDI provides the current no matter how high the engine RPMs go. As the CDI controls the spark plug, the plug will continue to fire at high RPM. For reasons that should be obvious, these CDI units are made for racing use, and are not very suitable for regular highway use. A restricted CDI module however, will stop firing once a pre-set engine RPM is attained. Without current reaching the spark plug, the engine RPMs slow to below the pre-set limit and only then will the CDI resume providing current to the plug.

When replacing a CDI module, or any other scooter ignition or electric scooter parts, it is always a good idea to reference your owner's manual. If the manual is lost or otherwise missing, many manufacturers and brands have downloadable manuals available on their websites.

Dodge Rampage

The Dodge Rampage concept is a vehicle that was developed by the Chrysler car company. This car is designed to be a coupe utility vehicle but a very stylish one indeed. The whole concept of the Dodge Rampage car was based on a vehicle that was produced between 1982 and 1984 which was known as the Dodge Rampage and was a utility truck. The Chrysler car manufacturing company decided to bring the concept back to life and brought the Dodge Rampage back into the market in the year 2006 and it proved to be a great vehicle to drive.

The Dodge Rampage concept vehicle is equipped with a V8 internal combustion engine which is currently one of the high performance engines available in the market today. The V engines are the engines that consist of cylinders and pistons that are arranged in a way that their layout looks like the letter V. The V8 engines, just like their name suggests, have eight cylinders that are placed over the engine crankshaft and each of the cylinders is comprises of two valves. The V8 engine installed in the Dodge Rampage car has a compression ratio of about 9:6:1 which is very good.

The Dodge Rampage has a maximum engine displacement of about 345 cubic inches. Engine displacement simply means the total volume of all the eight cylinders that the V8 engine has. The V8 engine makes the Dodge Rampage a very fast and powerful vehicle because it has a maximum performance of about 5,000 revolutions per minute which produces about 340 horsepower. The vehicle has a five speed automatic transmission system. The Dodge Rampage is an all wheel drive vehicle which can function well both on roads and also off roads. The Dodge Rampage car is a great car to own and one would have the most wonderful experience with this car.

The overall weight of the Dodge Rampage concept vehicle is about 5,000 lbs. The vehicle's wheelbase measures between the mid sections of both the front and rear wheels and measures slightly over 142 inches. The Dodge Rampages' overall width is about 80 inches, its height is about 73 inches and its length is about 215 inches. The interior of the truck is not like all the other utility trucks because it is very stylish and also beautiful. All the other truck models were very shocked when they got to view the interior of the Dodge Rampage concept because there is no car manufacturer that has ever produced such a utility truck.

The rear doors of the Dodge Rampage concept slide back which is one of the great features that this vehicle has. All the other traditional utility trucks have no extra features but his truck is one of the best in the world market. It may have good looks, which is a feature usually not on the mind of any designer when designing a utility truck but it is also very powerful and should not be underestimated. The bad thing about it is that it is only a concept and many people are waiting for the day Dodge decides to manufacture this vehicle.

Definition Of A Classic Car

The term classic car is often used in the description of older cars, although the correct meaning is generally subjected to different opinions. There are hence a variety of applications that can be applied in defining a classic car especially when classic is applied in the form of an adjective and this is also true in the case of a dictionary definition. A certain dictionary defined the term "classic car" as "distinguished by outstanding engineering, fine workmanship and elegant styling built around 1925 to 1948 ."

The above definition sounded quite close to one given by CCCA (Classic Car Club of America) whose definition was, unusual or fine motor cares built between as well as inclusive of the years 1925-1948. These are all special cars respectively distinguished by their fine design, superior workmanship and advanced engineering standards. Classic cars were generally high-priced while in new conditions and the built quantities were limited. Certain factors including custom coachwork, engine displacement as well as luxury accessories such as power clutch, power brakes and one-shot lubrication systems assist in determining whether a car can be considered as being a Classic.

CCCA maintains an endless list of vehicles considered to be classic and although all members are permitted to petition for a preferred vehicle to be part of the list, there is careful scrutinizing of such applications and it is rare to find any admittance for new types of vehicles. This definition is rather exclusive and hardly followed universally, and while CCCA acknowledges this, it still insists that its own definition of the term classic car is true. However, to avert confusion, certain terms like CCCA Classic or Full Classic are used. Most states in the US have legal time-based rules regarding this definition for certain purposes like registration of antique vehicles.

The definition in Pennsylvania is "motor vehicle" unlike a reproduction, the manufacture date being 15 years before the present year and it has been restored and maintained in a condition that conforms with the manufacturers appearance and specifications. United Kingdom does not have a classic car definition although there are two issues on taxation that have an impact. All vehicles manufactured before 1st January 1973 are not required to pay the road tax excise duty which is paid annually. It is usually inclusive of the license disc as part of the windscreen.

There are certain insurance companies that deem any car that is 20 years and above to be eligible for a policy of classic cars, although the car must be 25 years or above to qualify for the license plate of historical vehicles in most states. In comparison to modern cars, classic cars lack the basic features of safety as they are nowadays referred to. These lacking basic features include rollover protection, crumple zones and seat belts. The handling characteristics of the vehicle especially the suspension and the steering as well as the brake performance prove to poorer in comparison to the current standards. Extra care is needed for classic cars.

Classic And Muscle Cars

Classic cars are those which were produced or built between 1946 and 1985. Some qualities make a car a classic, such as having a power clutch, power brakes, automatic lubrication system, engine displacement or luxury accessories. Usually, these additions determine whether or not a car is classic. These cars were very highly priced because of their limited quantities. These cars are antique vehicles, which are made a minimum of twenty years prior to the current year. The billion dollar businessmen like to purchase such classical cars as luxury items. Some models include: Alfa Romeo, Du Pont, Triumph, Packard, Lincoln, B.M.W.

After the second World War, manufacturers of classic cars decided to change the styles and models and tried to make more improvements in the engines and other parts. In 1946, Kaiser-Frazer and Crosely made some changes, so all kinds of automobiles were developed, and new plans were made. Such cars were also use in old Hollywood movies. Some of these new additions included the removable trunk, headlights and other accessories. Classic muscle cars were low speed. There are some classic model cars that were never mass produced and are only shown at the classic cars shows. Some makers of classics introduced their new models in nineteenth century, such as Ford. This company is now making high-speed cars, which are famous all over the world.

In these types of cars, safety was usually not a priority. A driver of this type of car must be very careful while driving. Mostly, cars had no seat belts, crumple zones or rollover protection. Brake performance was also very poor as compare to the current standards. The driver had to control its speed. Sometimes, spare parts for classic cars were not available in every city. The driver had to find such spare parts in different cities. So, in many parts of United States, using classic cars for daily vehicles is strongly discouraged and is even prohibited in some places.

A Volvo Amazon is considered to be one of the best classic cars. In 1956, it was quite a piece of work. This company offered a good safety level on all of its cars. This model was the first car which had three seat-belts. The Volvo Amazon is still in use, which has proven that it is a very reliable car. Other accessories, like headlights, brakes, etc. were also available to replace any damaged parts. These qualities made the Volvo a great and successful car out of all of the classic cars. You can see its classic models in old cars museums.

Now, classic cars have antique value on the market. We can see them in large classic and old car museum. Such cars are also purchased for use in hobbies. The main important qualities for classic cars are their strong bodies and their strong engines, which last for a lifetime and never need repair. Also, other accessories like headlights and brakes etc are of the best quality manufactured.

Choosing The Perfect Backpack Leaf Blower

There are times when using brooms and rakes is no longer feasible when cleaning ones backyard, front-yard, garage, pathways, outdoor basketball courts, and other facilities. It is a time-consuming and exhausting task to manually clear up piles of leaves and fine debris out of these places. Buying backpack blowers are therefore the ultimate solution for this problem.
This model belongs to a class of power tools called leaf blowers. All backpack blowers are powered by gasoline-run engines and have frames as well as straps that enable you to carry the machine on your back. The factors that you should remember are the engine displacement which is measured in cubic centimeters (cc for brevity), the air velocity measured in miles per hour (mph), and the maximum or average air volume which is measured in cubic feet per minute (CFM). The greater these capacities are, the more powerful a backpack blower is.
These are the most powerful backpack blowers because most four-stroke engines have large fuel displacement capacities. They also generate less smoke emissions since they run on unleaded gasoline. Noise levels are also significantly reduced compared to their two-stroke counterparts.

A good example of a four-stroke backpack blower is the Makita BBX7600. Its 75.6 cc engine produces a maximum air velocity of 195 mph and has a maximum air volume of 526 CFM. Weighing only 22 pounds, it can be used continuously up to 80 minutes without refueling due to its 64 oz. fuel tank capacity.
Lightweight and versatile, these machines are the most commonly used of all backpack blowers. Their engines are less complex than their four-stroke counterparts, thus they are easy to repair. Cooling and fuel systems are integrated due to the simplicity their structure. These require a gasoline-oil mixture to prevent overheating the engine during operation.
An example of backpack blowers powered by a two-stroke engine is Husqvarna 125BT. Its 25 cc engine delivers a maximum air velocity of 150 mph. It also has a maximum air volume of 490 CFM. Using this machine is comfortable because it weighs only 18 pounds.

China Car Boom Bigger Is Better

Bigger is better that is what the China auto market bellows. Huge vehicles have lured Chinese to the showroom and eventually making them push their purchase button.

The big car shopping boom is evident in China as vast numbers of citizens join the middle class in abandoning their bikes for sport utilities. In the process, this boom is expected to worsen Chinas ever-growing greenhouse gas emissions.

"It's a vicious circle - more autos, more roads," said Li Junhao, the deputy chief of the municipal urban planning department in Shanghai, which has fought the automobile trend more than any other Chinese city by restricting access to license plates and taxing the use of cars in its downtown.

"There's not enough space for the cars or land to build the highways. The dream of Chinese here is much similar to your American Dream, no?" Li said. "It's just the same as anywhere else - you want a car and a bigger house, so you consume and pollute more."

A decade ago, Chinas main mode of transport is bikes. At present, the streets are congested bumper-to-bumper. According to traffic authorities in the territory, total car ownership could go beyond the U.S. level by 2025.

Chinas bigger-is-better attitude coincides with U.S. Congress struggle to fight over mileage mandates and California is ready to put into effect its own plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, reported the San Francisco Chronicle.

In July, in a sign of the raw political clout of pro-development forces, China's oil industry blocked a plan by the State Environmental Protection Administration to tighten vehicle emissions rules to meet strict European standards, the report added. In 2006, China became the world's second-largest market for new vehicles after the United States, with sales of 7.2 million, a rate that is rising by more than 20 percent annually. The government, meanwhile, is building a nationwide network of superhighways at a swift pace. Approximately 15,000 miles, the equivalent of one-third the U.S. interstate system, have been built since 2000, and 30,000 more miles are expected by 2020.

In the first half of this year, sales of cars with engine displacement smaller than one liter dropped by 28.9 percent over the same period in 2006 while sales of all sedans increased by 25.9 percent, and sales for sport utilities rose 39 percent, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.

For China's legions of new millionaires, biggest is best. The truck decal, powerful engines and a groovy masculine appeal could have triggered their passion. Last year, a group of coal mine magnates from northern Shanxi province came to Beijing, purchased ten Hummers at 1.3 million yuan each, or $170,000, and drove them back to Shanxi in a convoy.

"Purchasing power is rising, so it's simple, to drive a higher-end car gives you more face," said Su Hui, the general manager of the Asian Games Village Automobile Exchange, the mall where the Liu family was shopping. Fittingly, Su's establishment is huge, a sprawling expanse of more than 100 auto dealers, the largest auto mall anywhere in China. "This trend toward bigger cars is new this year," he added. "It looks more glorious."

The auto boom has dismal implications for next summer's Olympic Games in Beijing tagged the world's most polluted capital city. Jacques Rogge, the International Olympic Committee president, suggested at a ceremony in Beijing on Aug. 8 that events such as long-distance races might have to be delayed if the smog remains too heavy. "My concerns, which I believe are the concerns of everyone, are the climate and the environment, and especially the air environment," he concluded.

Chevrolet Spark Fires Up Gm's Indian Market

General Motors India distributor of all GM products in India including high-quality GMC water pump has recently launched its highly anticipated Chevrolet Spark at a function headed by GM India President and Managing Director Rajeev Chaba. He said, "The Chevrolet Spark is the wor1d's newest-generation compact city car. It sets a new standard for its segment through its modem design, clever space utilization, affordability and solid engineering."

He continues, "Last year we began construction of a new manufacturing facility and introduced three new Chevrolet products - the Aveo, the SRV and the Aveo U-VA. We are keeping up the momentum this year with the introduction of the Chevrolet Spark, which gives GM an entry into India's predominant market segment."

Spark's Dynamic Styling
The Chevrolet Spark is one of the worlds most famous mini-cars. Starting from its introduction in 1998 almost 2 million units have been sold in over 100 markets. The theme for the new-generation Spark is Evolution not revolution.

The modern and dynamic styling of Spark makes it looks more matured while its smiling face makes it more inviting. Its large round head lamps with its integrated indicators are complemented by stunningly large circular tail lamps.

At the front is a blend of a tough-looking bumper and large air intake that reflects a new sense of sporty flair. The overall look of the Spark is dominated by a marked wedge form with short body overhangs. The powerful faade of the Spark is enhanced by the profile of its hood. Sharply rising shoulder lines and converging feature lines found on its hood extends through the front fenders add tension and dynamism. Its two striking V-shaped feature lines provide the Spark with a three-dimensional look. The steel surfaces that continue through the front side windows provide an unusual and harmonious link to the side profile.

The exterior design also features smart elements such as a rear spoiler, satin silver roof rails, and body side moldings which are offered as standard on the top trim level. The Chevrolet Spark is also fitted with alloy wheels but will be offered as an option.

Sparks fun exterior is complemented by a stunning interior with a completely redesigned cockpit. The operating elements of the design are divided into two parts. The first one is concerned with the drivers direct line of vision. There is semi-circular display area with ergonomic controls and warning lights inside the Spark. Positioned at the center of the dashboard are the speedometer and instruments that features a blend of analogue and digital displays. The interior is richly appointed across all trim levels with high-quality fabrics on seats and door trims.

Unmatched Comfort and Convenience
The Chevrolet Spark is spacious attributed to its intelligent packaging and 2,345 mm wheelbase. The five-seater offers a generous amount of standard convenience features and smart storage spaces. Also parts of the standard features are the cup holders, card holders, seat-back shopping hooks, and highly useful internally adjustable outside mirrors that are very helpful especially in the dusty Indian driving conditions. High-performance air conditioning is also calibrated specifically for Indias climate and provides an accurate cabin cooling that is a first in the Sparks segment.

And depending on the trim level, standard equipment may also comes with hydraulic power-assisted steering, electrically operated front and rear windows, and a digital clock. In the LT trim, the rear-seat backrest can be divided in 60:40 ratio, allowing for longer objects to be transported easily. The LT trim also comes with a sunglass holder in addition to a rear washer-wiper system and defogger.

With its compact body dimensions of (length x width x height: 3,495 mm x 1,495 mm x 1,518 mm) and its small turning radius (4,600 mm). The Spark is highly maneuverable and also fits into any parking space.

Highly Fuel-Efficient
GM Daewoo engineers developed the highly fuel-efficient and powerful new S-Tec engine exclusively for the Spark. The four-cylinder 1.0 liter petrol engine delivers peak power of 63 PS at 5,400 rpm and peak torque of 90.3 Nm at 4,200 rpm. Power and torque are maximized at lower speeds, which make the Spark perfect for commuting in congested city traffic as well as on open highways.

The Spark has the highest peak power per engine displacement in its segment. The engine has been optimized via number of technical improvements such as the adoption of low-friction valve gears, sequential multi-point fuel injection or MPFI, a dual distributor-less ignition system (DOLI), a motorized throttle intake system (MTIS) and advanced optical sensor. A reduced curb weight and more aerodynamic styling further improve the Sparks low drag co-efficient of 0.342 giving it the best fuel efficiency of any vehicle in the market.

Improved Safety
The safety features of Chevrolet Spark were also enhanced with the application of modern technologies and high-grade materials. Moreover 51 percent of the total weight of the Sparks body cell consists of high-strength steel, providing great rigidity and stability while lowering the weight by 10 kg. Its precisely defined load paths with an energy-absorbing hexagonal profile protect passengers in the event of head-on or rear-end collision.

The optimized links between B-pillar and sills provide side impact protection. And to further enhance protection, the B-pillar is made of three steel plates of different thickness. These plates are welded together so that in case of side impact the B-pillar will move like a pendulum rather than fold and protrude into the passenger compartment. This action is known as Tailor-Welded Blanking or the Pendulum method which is normally employed for larger vehicles in higher segments.

The other safety features found on the Spark includes driver air bag that will be available shortly after the post launching of the Spark, 2.5 mph impact proof front and rear bumpers, and tubeless tires which are first in the Sparks segment. The front-end design of the Spark is among the first in its class to comply with the new European regulations for pedestrian safety.

Chevrolet Beat Review

Chevrolet Beat was debuted in 2007 at New York International Auto Show. The concept model was designed in GM's South Korean design studio and the running prototype was built in India. The engine displacement of Chevrolet Beat is small and compact that makes the car-echo friendly. Initially, General Motors introduced only petrol versions but recently it has launched Chevrolet Beat LPG version, which is a dual fuel variant and costs between 4 lacs and 5 lacs.

Chevrolet Beat is the best performer in its category. According to ARAI, the car can give 18.6 km per liter on highways and in city it can give the mileage of 15 kmpl. Beat is equipped with small compact state-of-the-art STEC II engine with the displacement of 1199 cc with four cylinder and powered with 16-valve Double Over Head Camshaft (DOHC). These displacement specifications make sure to churn out maximum power and torque of 79 bhp at 6200 rpm and 108 nm at 4400 rpm respectively.

Chevy Beat is not a sporty type of car, hence the performance is not welcoming on highways but it is well-balanced on city drives and can give higher rpms. In just 14.8 seconds the car can reach 0-100 kmph. However, remember it is a family car not a racer so keep the revs down, in order to get best performance. Most of its counterparts provide electronic power steering but unfortunately the Beat has hydraulic power steering. The small car is the best performer if you do not exceed the speeds over 60 kmph.

It is equipped with distinctive features like automatic temperature controller and integrated rear-spoiler, which help to deliver higher fuel efficiency and balanced drive even at high-speed. The conventional front and rear suspension of Chevy Beat are McPherson strut-type and compound crank type that assures to give smooth balanced handling and a comfortable ride.
